A young couple approached us who were expanding their family and chasing their dream by moving to the south coast. We conducted a house viewing in Newport and discussed arrangements to move their belongings to Cornwall. They found us £300 cheaper than other companies. We ventured down in August with 2 vans and 4 staff to carry out the job and help the family settle into their beautiful new home. The move was just as much a positive experience for them as it was for us.
The first time our business phone rang, we didn’t answer and panicked not knowing what to say! When we phoned back, the customer enquired about our moving services. We discussed their needs and provided a bespoke quote, which they accepted. This became one of many jobs we’ve helped the customer with, and to this day our standard of service and care remains. All these years later, we’re also supplying local storage for them and pay an annual visit at Christmas time to enjoy a few drinks together.
We recently took on a house move for a couple that got delayed by two weeks. We managed to change our team and accommodate the new date. On moving day, we were loaded by lunchtime, awaiting a phone call from the solicitors to confirm the customers could pick up the keys to their new home.
Unfortunately, due to legal issues, the sale couldn’t complete as planned and would need to happen the following week instead. So, we had to move the customers belongings back into their house on that same day. To ensure we could help them on the new date, we liaised with other customers to make room in our schedule. After the move went ahead, we also helped the couple by providing supporting documents to get reimbursed by the solicitors for extra costs they had to pay us for double the work. Even though some things aren’t always in our control, we always do our best to support customers professionally and emotionally in what can be one of the most stressful life experiences.
